St Margaret's Bay, looking east

Please scroll down, if necessary, for a commentary ...

The bay is small and the beach is pebbled, but it is a picturesque spot as a change from the larger south coast resorts. The main part of the village is on top of the cliffs and the waterside is reached by a narrow, steep and winding road. One is greeted at the bottom by an excellent eating-place pub called "The Coastguard" - best to book a table beforehand.
